German immigrants in central Poland in the late 18th and early 19th centuries

The aim of this article is to provide a holistic presentation the genesis, intensity, and directions movement, as well spatial temporal distribution German national group which settled in Central Poland from end 18th century 1820–1830 period. This paper analyses determinants inflow immigrants, their geographical origin, social occupational structure. settlers lands were very diverse group. In case first second-generation immigrants who came Poland, integration process was still quite slow. colonists living diaspora developed certain pattern existence that focused on immediate environment separating them outside world, while retention mother tongue religious tradition more an expression traditionalist consciousness than identity.
